IGC Pennant Teams 2019

February, 2019 Monthly archive

Winners are grinners! The Indooroopilly Gold 1 Pennant team includes Yvonne Geis, Lyndal Plant (c), Philly Taylor, Jane MacDonnell, Issy Simpson and Jo Atkin.  The team played their first match at McLeod last Friday and had a excellent win, defeating the home side McLeod 3.5 to 1.5. Well played ladies and best of luck for two in a row this week.

The Indooroopilly Gold 2 Pennant team includes Sue-Ellen Hopkins (c), Zoyrese Conoplia, Felicity Seeto, Jan Gardiner and Marie Phillips. The team were unlucky to lose at McLeod against Royal Queensland’s No. 1 team 1.5 to 3.5 with all matches hard fought in very blustery conditions compliments of Cyclone Oma. Onwards and upwards though, and we wish them great success this coming Friday.

What a fantastic day on Tuesday to launch us into the 2019 golfing year!! Thank you to everyone who played their part in making every component of our day sensational – the course, the organisation, the delicious food, the STUNNING room, and of course the terrific prizes, including the beautiful plate donated by the lovely June O’Connell. We are very lucky ladies indeed! Cheers to another top year ahead and many more celebrations!

Last Saturday, a field of 20 ladies teamed up with a partner to play in our Weekend Ladies Opening of Season four-ball stableford on the Presidents Course. Pauline Sinclair and Lyndal Plant took home the winner’s plate, donated by Mary Bourne in 1991, along with a $40 voucher and bottle of vino each! A very successful morning’s work! Helen Cronin and Claire Steffenson gave them a run for their money by coming in just a point behind as runners up. Congratulations also to our nearest the pin winners, Jane MacDonnell (Red 4) and Sue Paterson (Blue 5) who scored a new golf glove each. Great effort! Read More »
