The Pennant Break Up was on Friday night and attended by about 35 players and their caddies.
Four months have passed since the first clinic in April to the last game last Friday. From the ‘Marchpast’ at the Launch of the Season to the ‘Closing Ceremony’ last Friday the season involved 44 players, 25 matches and 125 caddies were needed. All in all IGC fielded Gold 1& 2 and Silver 1 & 3, and players from Bronze 2 were celebrated for their enthusiasm.
On the night, each manager ably reviewed their season – Celebrating the comraderie of the player, special mention was made of those players outside the teams and how they stepped in to play at late notice; and each manager highlighted the importance of the caddy in support of the player.
IGC is grateful to the players, caddies, captains and managers all who contributed to the success of our Pennant Season. Success is not only measured by wins but more importantly the ripple effect, in such a positive sense, this has on the extended IGC community.
Golf comraderie as well as the strive for good golf is alive and well at Indooroopilly Golf Club.
As Grantland Rice, a famous sportswriter, stated: “It’s not about the winning its about how you play the game”.
